We are looking for a Full-Stack Engineer in our team in Stockholm focusing on subscription, payments and partnerships!

As part of your daily work, you will:

- Design, develop, and maintain server-side components of our software applications.
- Write clean, efficient, and readable code using best practices.
- Collaborate with product owners and other stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements.
- Ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of our applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the backend systems.
- Continuously improve the performance and efficiency of our systems, maintain a high quality of the Podme application and services.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest technologies, industry trends and best practices to continually improve our products and processes.

Who are we looking for?

- Approximately 2 years of demonstrated professional experience.
- Experience in C# or Java, with an interest in .NET, and experience in developing microservices.
- Good understanding and practical experience with databases.
- Demonstrated experience in developing scalable cloud-based systems.
- Ability to write clean, efficient, and readable code following best practices.
- Proficiency in React, TypeScript, and CSS.
- Experience with at least one testing framework such as Jest, Mocha, Vitest, Cypress, or Selenium.
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills, adept at collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Ownership mindset throughout the development lifecycle.

It's an advantage if you have

- Familiarity with Kubernetes, Azure, and RabbitMQ, along with experience in building and maintaining SaaS products.
- Understanding of command structures, event-driven architectures, and other cross-service communication methodologies.
- Experience working with payment systems and payment service providers.
- Familiarity with Next.js for server-side rendering and SEO optimization.
- Experience with search engine optimization (SEO) practices.
- Experience with Google Analytics (GA) and Google Tag Manager (GTM).

Our interview process

- Recruiter screening (30 min): an initial call with the tech recruiter. We'll tell you a bit about us, answer any questions you may have, and learn about your background and what you're looking to do.
- Technical interview (90 min): system design interview and potentially some computer science fundamentals discussions together with a code review exercise with 2 of our engineers.
- Values interview (45 min): a face-to-face conversation with the engineering manager and product manager, focusing on your previous experiences as a teammate in various situations.

Join us in developing and maintaining the editorial newsroom print automation platform, provided by our SaaS partner Aptoma

We are currently seeking a talented and experienced System Manager to join our Editorial Services team in the Shared Product & Platform (SPP) department. SPP is a central organization that has an impact on newsrooms and works in close collaboration of all our news brands such as Aftonbladet & SvD in Sweden and VG & Aftenposten in Norway. You will be a member of a small, highly dedicated and competent team, consisting of a Team Manager, a Product Manager, a Frontend Developer and two System Managers.

About the role:
You will be responsible for managing the entire life cycle of our print automation system/platform that supports the majority of our news brands. You and the team will be working on improving the editorial print workflow, where we help the newsrooms to be more efficient by automating and creating responsive web-page templates based on the newspapers brand specifications.

To thrive in this role you need to be comfortable in taking on different responsibilities: Your focus will be shared by partly managing the Print Automation Platform Aptoma, and partly developing web-based templates in mostly HTML and CSS in the same system.

In this role you will:

Develop and support newsrooms’ print design specifications

Have an ongoing dialogue with our SaaS partner Aptoma on topics such as new feature development, operations and maintenance

Partner up with internal technical stakeholders to develop, support and maintain integrations with other products from our Digital Publishing Platform, Ad systems etc.

Lead our Aptoma super-user forum where you keep our users informed about changes and new features in our platform

Collaborate with Schibsted Media IT teams including IT Operation, Security and Identity Management to ensure alignment and integration of SaaS solutions with overall business objectives


About you:

You have in-depth knowledge of HTML/CSS and knowledge of Github for code management

You are used to handling ongoing workflows in Jira and/or ServiceNow

Product & Tech is responsible for product development and technology platforms for News Media brands. The unit consists of product managers, software engineers, UX experts, and user researchers. Most of our teams work distributed, with colleagues in Oslo, Stockholm, Krakow, Gdansk, Bergen, and Stavanger.

The Firmware Engineer will be working with our customer-facing engineering team, other internal engineering teams and partners to define requirements from customer inputs, create interfaces to our force/pressure sensors, produce data calibration and linearization algorithms, and communicate data to other systems. The engineer will use his/her technical background to devise innovative solutions for these requirements and will have the opportunity to work with a variety of microcontroller architectures, though our primary targets are ARM Cortex core based. The Peratech Product and Solutions Development team is in central Stockholm and the postholder will be located there. The engineer will be part of a global solutions team, with colleagues and internal and external customers all over the world. Therefore, this job could include around 30 travel days a year internationally, especially to Asia.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Works with technical sales team and other engineers to define product specifications from functional requirements and determine firmware integration needs.
• Develop, test and deploy firmware solutions and ideas for integrating Peratech sensors into a variety of system applications in diverse industry segments and embodiments. (e.g. mobile, consumer electronics, robotics, IoT, industrial, smart home, automotive, health/medical diagnostics, etc.)
• Use innovative signal analysis techniques to characterize signal coming from our sensor systems
• Collaborates with our UX/UI and mechanical engineering teams as well as with internal and external customers on a global basis to provide innovative pressure/force-sensing solutions
• Devises and implements advanced sensor calibration, linearization, correction and classification algorithms in the embedded firmware environment
• Provides documentation of code in an easy-to-understand form, to allow extensive reuse of functions
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Qualified to a minimum of BSc level in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline. Preference will be given to candidates with an MSc degree in any of the above disciplines
• At least five years' experience in firmware engineering with a proven ability to deliver products on time and on budget
• Experience in creating well structured, easy-to-understand code, with excellent documentation
• Fluency in spoken and written English, with communication skills at a professional level
• Proven ability to work in a multinational environment
• A valid work permit for working in the EU with at least one-year validity
• Ability to work in Stockholm
DESIRED EXPERIENCE
• ARM Cortex embedded firmware development in C, C++ with high levels of optimization in the form of firmware libraries, with the ability to produce assembler code if necessary
• Creating code modules for RTOS environments (e.g. FreeRTOS, Zephyr)
• Signal analysis and characterization in low-power environments
• Creation of bootloaders
• Implementation of embedded communications protocols, including USB, Bluetooth, I2C. SPI and UART
• A basic knowledge of electronics for system architecture, with the ability to read and understand schematic diagrams
ADDITIONAL USEFUL EXPERIENCE
• Writing code for other MCU types beyond ARM (e.g. PIC, Arduino)
• Source control via Azure DevOps, GIT
• Realization of automated testing platforms and unit tests
• Experience designing modules for human machine interfaces, such as control panels and membrane switches, touch screens, track pads, keypads, dials, controls and other physical interfaces into handheld or fixed electronics devices
• Integration of AI/ML code modules in the embedded environment

Om rollen

Som elektronikkonstruktör kommer du att vara delaktig som specialist i våra kundprojekt. Antingen som en del av kundens team eller som en del av vårt projektteam som levererar industriella IoT-lösningar. Våra kunder är huvudsakligen små och mellanstora industriföretag i Sverige. Storleken på våra projekt varierar, allt från mindre projekt till större mer komplexa projekt där förutsättningarna skiftar längs vägen.

Du kommer att arbeta med design och utveckling av elektronik och hårdvara för inbyggda system i projektets alla faser från behovsanalys och lösningsförslag till implementation, test och dokumentation.

För att lyckas i denna roll förväntar vi oss att du är nyfiken, tekniskt intresserad och har en ambition att ständigt utvecklas och hitta kreativa lösningar. Det är viktigt att du trivs med att arbeta i team och det är bra om du har erfarenhet från agilt arbete.

Din bakgrund kan vara varierande men vi ser gärna att du har en examen inom elektroteknik eller motsvarande. Vi uppskattar om du även har följande meriter:

- Minst 5 års erfarenhet som elektronikkonstruktör

- Lång erfarenhet av att arbeta med schemadesign

- Vana att hantera mätinstrument och handlödning för prototyparbete
