Om jobbet
Som DevOps Engineer hos oss spelar du en avgörande roll i att forma och förvalta den tekniska basplattan för ditt team och tåg. AI Engineer

Servicedesigner/Tjänstedesigner

Help AI move from experimentation to production impact.
What if your work didn’t stop at prototypes — but became part of how a global business operates, makes decisions, and ensures trust in its systems?
At ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems in Stockholm, you’ll help build AI systems such as AI assistants, knowledge retrieval tools, and automation services integrated into business workflows.

Why this role matters
AI adoption is moving beyond experimentation into production-grade systems that must be reliable and actively used in real products and operations.
We are scaling how AI is used across the business – and need engineers who can turn models and ideas into robust services that integrate with real products and processes.

The role
You’ll take ownership of designing and delivering production AI systems end-to-end — from integrating LLMs and retrieval pipelines to building backend services and running them in the cloud.
This is a hands-on engineering role where you build, ship, and operate real systems into production environments.

What you’ll work on
Build and ship GenAI applications (RAG systems, LLM-powered assistants, agent-based workflows for analysis and knowledge retrieval)
Develop production Python backend services and APIs powering AI features in production systems
Design and implement end-to-end ML system architectures (models, data pipelines, retrieval systems, and domain logic)
Deploy and operate AI services in Azure (including Azure OpenAI), with some AWS exposure
Work with modern LLM stacks (prompt engineering, retrieval optimization, orchestration, evaluation, and tool use)
Translate real operational needs into production AI systems, working closely with stakeholders and engineers

What will help you succeed
MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence or relevant fields — or up to 3 years of experience in AI/ML or data science.
Strong Python skills and experience building real applications, services, or data-driven systems.
Solid understanding of machine learning fundamentals.
Hands-on experience with Generative AI (LLMs, RAG systems, or agent-based applications).
Familiarity with modern AI tooling such as LLM APIs (e.g. Azure OpenAI), vector databases, embeddings, and retrieval systems.
Experience working with production-oriented systems such as APIs, backend services, data pipelines, or deployed ML/AI solutions, with awareness of constraints like performance, scalability, reliability, and cost.

We value strong fundamentals and practical experience working with real systems more than formal experience length.

Why ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems
You’ll work in a GenAI & Data Science team building AI systems that move beyond experimentation into production environments.
Modern GenAI stack — Work hands-on with LLMs, RAG pipelines, Azure OpenAI, and vector databases
Build & ship focus — Take features from idea ? implementation ? production deployment and real usage
Engineering ownership — High autonomy over system design, architecture, and implementation decisions
Growth environment — Be part of building a modern AI engineering capability from an early stage
Work–life balance — Hybrid working and a sustainable engineering culture focused on long-term quality

This role is offered as an initial one-year fixed-term contract, with a strong intention to transition into a permanent position based on performance and business needs.

Build technology that protects people, places, and everyday life.
Your work won’t sit quietly in a backlog. It will shape secure, connected solutions used around the world — and you’ll have the trust and freedom to do your best work along the way.

Why this role matters
At Assa Abloy, technology plays a direct role in creating a safer, more open world. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you’ll be part of teams building secure, scalable digital platforms that power smart access solutions globally.
This is a role for someone who wants to own meaningful problems, contribute to technical direction, and work in an environment where quality, balance, and long-term thinking genuinely matter.

The role
You’ll take end-to-end ownership of small to medium-sized features, from early technical design through to production and continuous improvement. Working closely with product managers, architects, and fellow engineers, you’ll help turn complex requirements into clear, well-structured solutions.
You’ll be trusted to challenge assumptions, surface risks early, and make sound technical decisions — bringing calm, pragmatism, and clarity to complex engineering discussions.

What you’ll work on
• Deliver meaningful features end-to-end — design, build, test, deploy, and evolve backend-focused services with a strong sense of ownership and quality.
• Build modern, scalable systems — develop primarily in Java, Kotlin, or Golang, collaborating with frontend engineers and contributing where needed to React/TypeScript applications.
• Shape architecture and technical direction — apply Domain-Driven Design, Test-Driven Development, microservice and event-driven patterns to solve complex problems and raise the bar across the team.
• Lead cloud-native development — design and operate services on AWS, using containers, orchestration platforms, and serverless patterns to build resilient, future-proof solutions.
• Design data and system behaviour at scale — model data across No and relational systems, ensuring performance, reliability, and secure operation in distributed environments.
• Strengthen delivery and operational excellence — improve CI/CD pipelines, support production systems, and continuously refine engineering practices for long-term sustainability.

What will help you succeed
• Solid senior experience (5+ years) building backend systems in cloud-native, distributed environments.
• Strong ownership mindset — you’re comfortable taking a feature from idea to production and standing behind your decisions.
• Architectural judgement — you know when and how to apply DDD, TDD, microservices, and event-driven design pragmatically.
• Hands-on cloud and DevOps experience — particularly with AWS, containerisation, CI/CD, and modern deployment models.
• Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools and methods to enhance productivity, code quality, and system design.
• Clear, thoughtful communication and a willingness to mentor others.

Why Assa Abloy
At Assa Abloy, you’ll join a global organisation with a distinctly Scandinavian approach to work: trust over control, clarity over noise, and people over process.

• Meaningful mission — Your software helps protect homes, businesses, and communities around the world, contributing to solutions people rely on every day.
• Innovation at scale — Work with modern cloud platforms, event-driven architectures, and evolving technologies in a global environment.
• Autonomy and trust — You’re trusted to make decisions, influence design, and own your work from idea to impact.
• Growth and development — Learn continuously, deepen your technical expertise, and explore opportunities across teams and borders.
• Work–life balance — Flexible working, hybrid options, and a culture that supports sustainable performance.

Ready to build something that matters?
If you’re looking for a senior developer role where your skills, judgement, and wellbeing are genuinely valued, we’d love to hear from you.
Apply today and bring your expertise to a role where your decisions truly shape the future of smart access.
We review applications continuously, so don’t wait.
We’re committed to building diverse, inclusive teams and encourage applications from all who see themselves thriving here.
