AI savvy Android Developer

Läs mer Jul 3
You know that bit where every company says they’re “changing the world”? Yeah, it can feel a little forced. But we like to think our story actually has some realness to it.
Our story begins with Shadi Bitar and Ninos Malki, who came to Sweden from Syria as kids and discovered that books could be a bridge - helping them learn the language, understand the culture, and explore new worlds.
A thought emerged, what if everyone could have that? And just like that, Nextory was born - your all-access pass to read, listen, and discover new perspectives without limits.
And now, we’re searching for a AI-savvy iOS Developer who’s ready to bring stories to life in every user’s pocket.
Let us tell you about the role ???? s an Android Developer at Nextory, you’ll not only design, build, and refine our Android app. You’ll help shape how we leverage AI and agentic ways of working to create smarter, more adaptive user experiences. We believe that the future of software engineering is more about authoring intent than writing lines of code.
In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and fellow developers to make every interaction feel personalized and inspiring. You’ll explore how autonomous systems and human creativity can combine to redefine how stories are discovered, shared, and enjoyed.
Your main responsibilities will include:

Building and enhancing the Android app’s core experiences

Owning and evolving key app features, leveraging AI tools and agentic workflows to accelerate development and decision-making

Collaborating across teams to understand user needs and deliver elegant, scalable solutions

Contributing to a modern development culture where AI agents handle coding and testing, while you focus on experimentation, architecture, and product insights

The main character we’re looking for ???? We believe you are a curious and dedicated Android Developer who thrives on creating smooth, high-quality mobile experiences. You take pride in building seamless, performant apps, and you’re just as comfortable collaborating with humans as you are working alongside AI-powered tools, agents, and workflows.
Furthermore, we believe you have:

A relevant educational background in computer science, engineering, or a similar field

At least 5 years of experience working as an Android Developer in fast-paced environments

Deep knowledge of Kotlin and modern Android development frameworks

Experience working with Jetpack Compose, and good knowledge with Coroutines, Flow, and Room for seamless app architecture and data handling

The Nextory way of working ???? At Nextory, we believe a strong and inclusive culture is key to our success - and that culture flourishes when we meet and collaborate in person as much as possible. That’s why we spend the majority of the working time at our beautiful office!
We are based in Stockholm, Sweden, with offices in Paris and Bangalore. Our hybrid work policy includes four days in the office and Wednesdays as a work-from-home day.
Your next story starts here ???? We look forward to your application ????. Applications are reviewed continuously, but please note that due to summer vacations, our response times may be a little longer than usual. If you have any questions about the role, please contact erika.thorslund@nextory.com.
Please note that we do not offer relocation and that a six-month probationary period applies.

Senior Android-utvecklare (Kotlin/Jetpack Compose/AI)

Tech stack
Språk: Kotlin

UI: Jetpack Compose, Material Design

Arkitektur: MVI/MVVM, Hilt, Coroutines/Flow

Testning: JUnit, Espresso, UI-tester

Be a present, hands-on leader for a team of 4–5 engineers: run 1:1s, support growth and create a safe, collaborative environment where people do their best work.

Partner closely with the Product Manager and Designer to align on priorities, shape the roadmap and drive high-quality delivery.

Lead by doing: write code, review PRs and engage deeply in technical decisions across backend, web and mobile.

Champion engineering excellence by guiding architectural decisions, fostering good development practices and promoting continuous improvement – enabling sustainably rapid delivery in a complex micromobility business.

Coach and develop engineers through feedback, mentorship and clear expectations – with support from us if this is your first formal people management role.

Lead the team in adopting agentic engineering practices: actively use and encourage AI-assisted development and help engineers build the habits and judgement to get the most out of these tools.

Contribute to a collaborative engineering culture aligned with Voi’s values, and be a driver for inclusion and psychological safety within your team.

WHAT YOU NEED TO EMBARK You are a hands-on, collaborative engineer with a passion for both technology and people. You enjoy working across domains, take ownership of delivery and are curious about how AI can elevate the way teams build software.

4+ years of hands-on experience as an engineer in modern tech stacks, building reliable software in a fast-paced environment.

A generalist mindset with experience in backend, web and/or mobile development.

2+ years of experience in a tech lead, senior or informal leadership capacity – you have guided others technically, even if you have not held a management title.

No prior people management experience required – this is a growth area we will support you in.

Practical experience with AI-assisted development tools (for example modern code assistants) and a genuine interest in agentic engineering workflows. You lean into these tools and help your team build the skillset to use them effectively.

Strong communication skills and the ability to navigate both technical and cross-functional conversations with ease.

Fluency in English, written and spoken.

Your mission at Voi
As a Fleet Specialist in Stockholm, you'll keep our electric vehicles in great shape and help our city operations run smoothly. You'll rotate between two areas depending on daily priorities:
In our mechanical team, you'll maintain and repair our vehicles — learning the technical side of micromobility and keeping our fleet ride-ready.
In our in-field team, you'll use one of our vans to carry out operations across Stockholm — deploying vehicles, responding to issues and making sure our riders always have a safe, reliable ride.
Your Team Lead will guide where you're needed most each day. No two shifts are exactly the same.
What you'll do

Collect and deploy Voi vehicles across the city ??

Locate and retrieve damaged vehicles ????

Swap batteries to keep vehicles ready to ride ????

Carry out on-site repairs and diagnose mechanical issues ????

Dismantle and recycle vehicles beyond repair ??

Receive, inspect and prepare new vehicles and batteries at the warehouse ????

Support your teammates in the field — repositioning vehicles, clearing parking spots, flagging issues ????

You don't need a background in mechanics or logistics. We'll train you. What we're looking for is someone who:

Holds a valid driving licence for Sweden ?

Fluency in english, both verbal and written

Feels comfortable driving around Stockholm in varying conditions

General familiarity with digital tools and applications

Enjoys working as part of a team and is happy to take initiative when needed

Likes sharing knowledge and helping colleagues grow

Approaches problems practically — you focus on getting things done

Stays calm and composed when things get busy (traffic, tight spots — it happens)

Can physically handle and move vehicles and batteries, using the tools and support we provide

Why women enjoy working on our field teams
We've been listening to our female colleagues, and here's what they tell us matters:
???? A team that has your back — you're never working alone, and collaboration is how we operate
???? We train you from day one — no prior mechanical experience needed
???? Clear structure and fair management — you'll always know what's expected
???? Real variety — every shift is different; no two days are the same
???? Your voice shapes how we work — we're actively building this programme with input from people doing the role
