Stockholm: Data Engineer

Do you want to help build a modern cloud-based data platform at one of Sweden’s largest automotive companies? In this role, you’ll be a key member of a BI/Analytics team driving the transition from legacy systems to a new AWS-based solution. You’ll work with data pipelines, reporting in Power BI, and ensure the business has access to accurate decision support in a rapidly evolving system landscape. About the role
Our client is one of Sweden’s largest vehicle importers, delivering around 10 million vehicles to customers worldwide. For the past year, they’ve been implementing a modern data platform built on AWS. In parallel, a wide-scale transformation of the system landscape is underway, replacing many of the existing systems.
To support this transition, the BI/Analytics team is now growing. The team’s core responsibilities include:



Ingesting data from legacy systems into the new platform





Creating Power BI reports that replace legacy reports in Report Manager and Qlik Sense — often consolidating multiple old reports into one, and incorporating new requirements





Harmonizing data to ensure consistent tracking and reporting across old and new source systems





Incident management, with minimal development on the legacy solution





The team practices smart working — a hybrid setup with a few days per week onsite at the office in Södertälje, and the rest remote. The assignment starts immediately or in August, with an initial contract through the end of the year and the possibility of extension.

We're looking for someone who has


At least 5 years of experience designing and building scalable data pipelines in a modern, cloud-based data platform for analytics or advanced analytics





Experience with AWS and the DBT tool





A proactive mindset, with the ability to suggest improvements and share knowledge with the team





Experience in data modeling





Strong troubleshooting skills and a solution-oriented approach





Experience working in large, complex projects



Fluency in English (Swedish skills are a plus)

Day-to-day life
Design, develop, and deploy data solutions (think databases, pipelines, and warehouses) – tailor-made for clients

Qualifications
We're looking for a data virtuoso with five years of proven experience in designing, developing, and deploying databases, data pipelines, and data warehouses. You'll be a cloud champion who understands data warehousing concepts, setups, and design patterns within the Google Cloud Platform. As a coding mastermind, you'll possess strong and Python or Java skills and a passion for exploring new technologies.


Excellent communication is key – you'll build relationships with clients, translate their needs into actionable solutions, and present complex topics with clarity and confidence. Finally, you're a team player at heart, thriving in collaborative environments where you can share knowledge, mentor others, and foster a culture of open communication and support.

Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) is a critical part of our platform strategy. As a member of the SRE team, you will focus on providing technical expertise and support to our engineering teams to enable them to deliver high-quality software solutions efficiently. This includes helping teams with technical continuous effort, overcoming major technical hurdles, performance improvements, implementing system monitoring and building software with high availability.

YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:


Help domain teams build software with high availability, resilience, and scalability to meet the needs of the business and customers.
Implement system monitoring to track system health, performance, and availability.
Drive performance improvements by analysing system metrics.
Contribute to the development of standards, guidelines, and best practices for software development, deployment, and operations.
Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices and share knowledge and insights with the broader engineering organisation.



OUR SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
Strong technical background with expertise in software development, including proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript).

Join our dynamic Gaming Integration Team, comprising 10 developers and QA experts dedicated to developing and maintaining our cutting-edge Gaming Engine.
