We are now looking for a Craft Manager that will guide our Artists and Animators in their development. Your role within the Kingdom

Content Design is one of the rapidly growing crafts in Candy Crush Saga. As part of a cross-functional team, you will be working closely with UX designers and researchers to craft user journeys and design content that meets player needs and guides them to where they want to go.

We believe you have several years of experience working hands on with environments, lighting and 3d art in a game engine, for example Unreal 4/5, to create world-class games.

Responsibilities

- Working with one or several cross functional teams to create high quality environments, lighting and visual ambiance.

- In collaboration with other artists, create best practices, performance, workflows and technical requirements for the lighting in the game.

- Collaborate with level designers and level artists to guide the player and evoke emotions.

About the position:
As a Game Artist you will create, polish, improve and render the art assets and bring them to a final release state. Assets are typically symbols, backgrounds, buttons, text and various UI elements. Avalanche Studios Group and its creative division Expansive Worlds is looking for a Technical Artist to join our team in Stockholm or Malmö, Sweden, working on theHunter: Call of the Wild. As the Technical Artist, you will support other artists with technical problem-solving and best practices.
The successful candidate will be expected to gain expert knowledge of Apex, Avalanche’s in-house engine. This knowledge will be used to assist other team members in achieving their tasks efficiently through direct support and documentation. You will play a key role in setting up, learning existing and maintaining art pipelines and workflows.

Om rollen
Som Concept Artist kommer du tillsammans med Produktägare och Art Director att lägga grunden för spelets visuella presentation med avseende på både grafik och animation. Tillsammans med vår Art Director tolkar du produktägarens vision av spelet och utgår ifrån den i skissningsarbetet. Det är viktigt att arbeta enkelt, snabbfotat och uttrycksfullt då det krävs ett antal iterationer innan tematisering och stil kan spikas.
Att sätta den funktionella designen av ett spel är en viktig del av pre-produktionen. De funktionella frågorna måste besvaras innan designen kan kläs i färg och form. Arbetet sker i 2D men visuella effekter kan med fördel användas för att skapa djup och liv i grafiken.
I rollen som Concept Artist ingår bland annat följande;
Undersöka och föreslå koncept, teman, stilar och genrer
Ta fram designutkast för centrala och viktiga komponenter och spelvyer utifrån muntlig och skriftlig presentation av Produktägare
Skapa storyboards för att tydliggöra flödet i olika spellägen och i samband med vissa spelfunktioner
Ta fram högkvalitativa koncept för våra spel

Vem är du?
Det är viktigt att du motiveras av möjligheten och friheten att skissa brett och att du är prestigelös och bekväm med det faktum att mycket av det du tar fram kommer inte att följa med in i spelproduktionen. Du har gedigna grafiska färdigheter med inriktning mot konceptdesign och en mycket god förmåga att rita i en mängd olika stilar.
Som Concept Artist måste du kunna förklara begrepp och konstnärliga val för teamet som tar vid i produktionen. Därav kräver rollen att du är mångsidig och har god kommunikationsförmåga i både tal och skrift. Som senior i din roll är förväntningarna höga på att du är självgående, motiverad och har ett stort inre driv. The position



As a game designer, your focus is to deliver world-class gameplay experience to our players, including new features, system and content. By seeing the world through our users’ eyes, you are bringing content for a one-of-a-kind game to a unique audience. The position

As our QA Engineer Lead, you will lead and drive the team towards developing a quality first mindset, own and drive better quality practices, and together with the team continuously deliver on agreed quality standards. The role is split between doing hands-on work with testing and test automation, and as a leader with full personnel responsibilities including 1:1s, salary setting and coaching the team. You will work closely with all QA teams cross function, where your focus will be on our game foundation, core game development, tools and the game engine area.

Leading the testing activities and coaching the team on how they can reach the next level in quality.

Defining & Owning Test Strategy including processes, tools, test levels etc within the team

Writing scripts for automated tests

Testing the old and new content/feature/functionality.

The position:
We are now on the lookout for a Customer Happiness & Player Safety Manager to lead the Customer Happiness team and guarantee a secure and delightful playing experience for our players. We want to ensure that our players and their parents get the best possible customer support experience and we aim to cultivate an environment where players feel not only safe but also genuinely pleased to reach out to us, whether they encounter issues or simply seek engagement.

Responsibilities:

Supervise the daily operational activities of the Customer Happiness team to ensure seamless functioning.

Mentor and coach team members, conduct salary and performance reviews, and foster a positive work environment.

Collaborate with the CMO and analytics team to create and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) aligned with organizational objectives.

Handle crises efficiently and coordinate with stakeholders to address challenges effectively.

Work collaboratively to establish tools and processes that enhance the overall customer experience.

Collaborate with other teams and departments to ensure that player perspectives are considered in decision-making processes.

Define and implement long-term strategies and goals for the team that align with the company's overarching objectives.

Constantly evaluate and challenge existing methodologies, select appropriate partners, and adapt tactics to provide the best service to our players.

We think you:

Have over 3 years of experience leading teams, including people management and salary review processes.

Have exceptional communication and collaboration skills.

Is proactive and driven, capable of initiating and driving processes and development

Are Fluent in written and spoken English, with a preference for proficiency in Swedish.

Have demonstrated experience in crisis management.

Have the ability to comprehend the broader organizational goals and make challenging decisions when necessary.

Game Design Lead

Star Stable Online is a 12-year-old MMORPG with players ranging across a variety of ages. While the game already has a captivating main storyline, we are committed to ensuring that Jorvik is a world that players can’t wait to return to and spend time in. And this is where you come in. We need to modernize our gameplay for a new generation of gamers, and our new exciting world as a cross-platform game. To help us on this journey, we are looking for a dedicated Game Design Lead who can help us adapt and thrive for another 12 years and beyond!

The Game Design Lead we are looking for is someone who wants to take our gaming experience to an all-new high. You will be investigating how we can make more replayable content by looking into how we can build out new gameplay systems but also build upon existing ones. The Game Design Lead at Star Stable drives the design work within the studio, helping the project teams turn the creative vision into tangible design that gets into the hands of our players. Since you’ll be working on a live game, you will have a great opportunity to employ player feedback to enhance the gaming experience continuously. Moreover, you will lead the design area, coaching the team to bring the director’s vision to life. As the team manager, you’ll also be responsible for 1:1s, recruitments and welcoming new members to the team.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the directors on the vision and the goals for design. Coaching the project teams to turn those visions into tangible designs.

Provide design direction to the team, this includes delegating work, coaching, mentoring and planning together with the producer and other stakeholders.

Spend around 50% of your position doing hands-on design work. Conceptualise, prototype, test and implement gameplay systems.

Drive discovery phases and other design processes with support from the associate producers.

Drive collaboration with other disciplines such as art, production and engineering, ensuring alignment and cohesion for the overall game experience.

Contribute to improvements in our design pipelines and strategy.

Drive documentation of guidelines, workflows and best practices.

Stay up to date with relevant game information such as KPIs, player surveys, new releases and updates.

Conduct 1:1 meetings with the team, recruit, onboard and offboard team members.

We believe that you have:

Several years of experience as a game designer with a solid understanding of game loops, systems and their impact on the player experience.

Experience in a leadership role with the ability to coach a team on their personal development and goal setting.

Experience with prototyping and conceptualizing new gameplay systems.

A will to advocate for players and company goals and contribute to building a culture of constructive feedback within the design craft.

A passion for solving problems and overcoming challenges.

Strong knowledge of commercial and proprietary game engines and tools.

Game UI Lead

In Star Stable Online, the player might choose to team up with the soul riders to fight evil, or maybe they rather hang out with their friends and compete in different races. It’s up to them. We give our players the freedom to choose their adventure, and our enthusiastic community of players is one of our biggest assets. Now, we are looking for a Game UI Lead who’s ready to incorporate player feedback and ensure that we have a seamless and coherent gaming experience across all of our platforms.

The Game UI Lead will lead a team of designers and guide them on how to turn the creative vision from our directors into tangible UI design that gets into the hands of our players. You will design and implement high-quality UI and gameplay content, ensuring that these are fitting across several platforms and for our audience.
