About the job:
Working in Data Engineering, you know the importance of data to client business. You design and set up projects that bring together information from a variety of sources, to enable analysis and decision-making. You make sure that data is accessible and easy to use, so that it can be used for routine and ad-hoc analysis.
Day to day, you will:
Use your knowledge to plan and deliver data warehouse and storage
Take part in designing and running bespoke data services for individual projects
Engage in client conversation to fully understand business cases
Stay up to date with business best practice in using and retrieving data
Design, develop, adapt and maintain data warehouse architecture and relational databases that support data mining and data analysis
Customize storage and extraction, metadata, and information repositories
Create and use effective metrics and monitoring processes
Help to develop business intelligence tools
Support deal teams by providing subject knowledge and solutions for client proposals
Author reports that include key performance indicators, show where current operations can be improved, and identify the causes of any problems
Create and maintain report forms and formats, information dashboards, data generators and canned reports, as well as other information portals and resources
Travel as required.



Your skills:
You’re got great experience in data and analysis, and how to source, store and share information. You’re a problem solver who’s happy to work autonomously and to share their knowledge and skills, as well as guiding other team members.
Your skills and experience include:
Database, storage, collection and aggregation models, techniques and technologies – and how to apply them in business
Implementing data platforms and solutions in a cloud environment, preferably Azure
Employing statistical and data visualization tools and techniques
Experience in structured problem solving
Great project and people management
Working with , DAX, R or equivalent



You’re likely to have a bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Systems Engineering or another relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. You also have at least three years of relevant professional experience.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
As a Data Engineer at Nextory you will work with keeping and developing the data drivenness of Nextory throughout the organization. With a curious, innovative and analytical mindset and tech-savvy approach you will fuel our data-driven teams.
Together with the team you will be responsible for data services which means, data warehousing, ML/AI, data quality and enabling data insights. You will build and run data pipelines, data warehouses, data frameworks and leverage ML/AI. This role entails ensuring our data architecture meets business needs, recommending ways to improve data quality and reliability. With our placement in the news media industry, this often means supporting near-real time needs. Additionally, it is important to be savvy in monitoring and optimizing the costs of processing data, as well as assessing and addressing potential security vulnerabilities. You report directly to the Head of Analytics & Insights.

Since spring 2023, Aftonbladet's data and analytics team is part of the organization Subscription Sweden, a larger family of Schibsted's News Media brands - Svenska Dagbladet, Aftonbladet, Omni, Wellobe and Podme. Collaborating across, we foster collective growth. Your team therefore consists of colleagues with data and analysis skills from various brands, some of whom, like you, devote most of their work to Aftonbladet. Our stakeholders are from all parts of the organization; i.e. the Product teams, Editorial, Subscription Business, Advertising and Commerical departments.

The team manages the collection, structuring, enrichment, and analysis of all available data - with Aftonbladet alone producing 400 million events and over 20 billion data points daily. We utilize a modern cloud-based data warehouse (Snowflake/AWS), along with tools such as dbt, Airflow, Docker, Tableau and Amplitude.

You strive to master the arts of:

Building large-scale ELT pipelines; designing and ensuing data flows across Schibsted News Media; leveraging AWS, Snowflake, dbt and many other state of the art data and analytics technologies.

Proactively surveying the technical architecture, tooling and solution landscape seeking opportunities to optimize time to data, data quality and model agility.

Documenting, monitoring and consistently improving our data flows by working together with the central data platform teams.

Ensuring data privacy regulations are solidly and efficiently adhered to in all our data engineering work.

Collaborating and communicating – we operate as a unified team.


You have:

A Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or Informatics.

At least 4 years' experience in big data or data engineering, with proficiency in data pipeline construction and transformation.

An appreciation for experimentation and the autonomy to develop unique solutions.

Strong business acumen with the ability to toggle between detailed technical and high-level conceptual perspectives.

Our local team in Sweden currently consists of 45+ community members from various background, competencies and level of experience. Our areas of expertise span through many skill sets including but not limited to Full-stack, Front-, Back-end developers, Application Architects, Business Analyst, Scrum Masters and Design Thinkers which enables us to cover and deliver all parts of modern application development focusing on .NET development and Azure services following DevOps principles. When we want to get to the details in our area of competence, we organize in smaller groups we call Role Families to get the knowledge sharing going and to explore new technology and industries applicable to our skill.
Occasionally we collaborate with members from other Talent Communities, in example the Infrastructure Talent Community and the Analytics Talent Community. This opens for a lot of learning and development opportunities within other areas as well as our own. Your normal day at Avanade & day-to-day Activities
As a Software Developer you will support the creation of custom solutions for our clients and their customers through designing, building, testing and deploying across services and applications with the Microsoft technology at its core. As an experienced developer you will be part of defining a projects technical and functional design, working in collaboration with Technical leadership and Analysts, and from time to time lead and facilitate a development team.
Develop innovative solutions using the latest Web and Microsoft technologies following DevOps principles
Collaborate with developers, business analysts and the scrum master in your team to build new digital experiences
Develop solutions throughout the stack of models ranging from Frontend to deep backend integrations
Collaborate and communicate with clients and stakeholders to ensure delivery of quality in our projects

As Regional Director of Operations, you will provide strong leadership and management of regional business operations, focusing on the development and execution of processes and implementation of change initiatives that improve operational efficiency and profitability. As a Senior Data Engineer your responsibilities will be developing and expanding our client's data and data pipeline architecture. As a data wrangler and data pipeline builder you will optimize data flows and the collection of data from the ground up. In your role you will often support multi-functional teams as well as software developers, data analysts and data scientists on data initiatives and ensure consistent data delivery throughout the entirety of a project.
At times be involved in presale activities including client meetings, workshops and internal Avanade bid processes where you work with your sales team and technical consultants to transition sales from qualification to closing.

The Infrastructure Talent Community consists of 10 Infrastructure talent community members ranging between juniors and seniors. We primarily work with Azure. About the role
As a Power BI Developer, you know the importance of data visualization to business. You design and set up projects that bring together information from a variety of sources, to enable analysis and decision-making. You make sure that data is accessible and easy to use, so that it can be utilized for routine and ad-hoc analysis.
Day to day, you will:
Use your knowledge to plan and deliver Power BI solutions
