We are looking for several Credit Risk Modelers of varying levels of seniority to join our credit modelling functions and drive the design, enhancement, and implementation of credit risk models across the organisation. The role combines advanced modelling, practical implementation of the models in our IT infrastructure and a sound understanding of banking. Meet the Risk Models team. Our role is to develop and maintain models under IRB, IFRS9 and Credit Risk Stress Testing. We strive to develop models that help business in their decisions and comply with relevant regulatory environment across multiple countries.
Our team adds value by accurately estimating the risk parameters for Nordea’s customers. As a (Senior/Lead) Quantitative Risk Analyst you will play a valuable role in developing, maintaining and using models which accurately estimate Nordea customers’ credit risk.
Given the nature of our data and regulatory requirements, we use advanced modelling techniques and big data technology. In addition to using leading techniques for modelling and data, the team’s role is general risk governance within credit risk modelling and methodology, including management of models, model implementation, data quality, documentation and model use.

Main responsibilities in this role:
* Work on a subset of model lifecycle related activities like: data pipeline, data quality work, development, documentation, implementation, maintenance, monitoring, requirement setting, and user acceptance tests within credit and impairment models.
* Contribute to methodological standards, modelling tools, coding practices, and continuous improvement of the modelling framework.
* (Senior/Lead level) Lead or drive projects within the Risk Models, especially those related to IRB/IFRS9 models.

We are seeking an individual with the following qualifications:
For Project Leader Role:
* Ambitious, self-driven & structured likely with 2-4 years of professional experience and looking to grow your network and skillset
* Previous experience in either programme management/PMO activities, management consulting or a similar toolbox including flair for executive reporting
* Knowledge about data and/or risk management is an advantage but not a must

For Risk Expert Role:
* Minimum 7 years of relevant experience
* Experience in banking, regulatory, or consulting roles is preferred
* Strong knowledge of IRB or other internal models (IMA, IMM) and related regulations

Common skills:

What you’ll be doing
As a Quantitative Risk Analyst, the specific role may vary based on qualifications, but you could i.e. play a valuable role in Data analytics, optimizing data flows, product management or as a data governance specialist. Your role could also include coordinating data related activities and ensuring proper communication within the teams and across other Risk Models areas. 
Main responsibilities in this role:
* Root-cause analysis for data quality issues, where we meticulously investigate and identify the underlying reasons for any discrepancies in our data. This is closely followed by data reconciliation, ensuring that our data sets are consistent and accurate across different sources.
* Data extraction based on desired content where we pull out specific information needed for various analyses and reports.
* We focus on optimizing data flows and algorithms to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our data processes.

* Refining business requirements and conducting user acceptance testing. This ensures that the developed solutions meet the specified needs and expectations of our stakeholders.
* Developing analytical tools enabling better data analysis and decision-making.

* Product management, ensuring that our data-related products are aligned with business objectives and user needs
* Executing the Data Governance Recipe, where we adhere to the best practices and policies to manage our data assets effectively.
* Preparing reports and other documentation for senior management and external reporting is also an integral part of our role, ensuring transparency and informed decision-making.

In this role, you will take portfolio responsibility for a range of activities that target Nordea’s resolvability and executes on a range of important programme and business as usual deliveries.

The Group Recovery and Resolution team is executing on an ambitious agenda to ensure Nordea complies with all supervisory requirements in relation to our financial recovery and resolvability. Equally, we are working to ensure we deliver solutions and support to the broader Group organization to support the maintenance of our technologies and processes that ensure we comply.

You will join a team of risk professionals with a focus on:
* Support to our Group Head of Recovery and Resolution – Anna Lindquist
* Take independent responsibility for Recovery and Resolution deliveries across: Dry-Run Planning and execution
* Onsite inspection management, coordination and execution
* Business strategy analysis to ensure separability in a resolution situation
* Liquidity and Business Reorganization analysis and forecasting
* Capital analysis with focus on MREL
* Regulatory interpretation and integration

* Process design and implementation
* Work closely together with  management to develop and articulate the strategic direction for Recovery and Resolution
* Prepare and coordinate decision proposals to the leadership team of ERM Recovery and Resolution – including the Resolution Programme Steerco, chaired by the Group CFO
This role is based in Helsinki or Stockholm.
Who you are
You will join the Enterprise-wide Risk Management team part of Group Risk.
Your background and skills include:
* Fluency in English – written and spoken
* A minimum of five years banking experience with recovery and resolution planning. Stress testing or financial analysis background would be an asset
* You will preferably demonstrate a portfolio of concrete deliveries that have contributed demonstrably to a modern risk management organization
* Technology skills such as coding ability is an asset but not a requirement

* Map source data to target data models in the most optimal way (financial services logical data model).

Your background and skills include:
* A degree in Computer Science or related field.
* At least 5 years’ experience in IT.

* Experience in writing .

Your background and skills include:
* Understanding and knowledge of Data road maps, Data strategy guidelines and data architecture
* Good understanding of Dimensions, transaction and information systems, data warehouses, data marts, ODS, MDM methodologies and life cycles ETL and MDM technologies

Your future responsibilities

When you are ready you will be involved in customer compliance calls, and potentially site visits, as part of our enhanced due diligence procedures.
More specifically, your tasks will include:
* Collect and assess information on banks and/or PSPs and summarize your findings and conclusions in KYC files, i.e. conduct KYC due diligence (CDD/ODD/EDD) with focus on financial crime prevention.
* Analyse, describe and conclude on bank’s and PSP’s business with special focus on their financial crime governance and control procedures.
* Assess, describe and conclude on risks related to money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud, corruption, adverse media, sanctions, transactions, ownership structures, corporate governance etc.
* Assess, understand and describe the local political and regulatory environment in relation to financial crime prevention and correspondent banking.
* Plan, organize and conduct compliance calls to verify information and collect intelligence on customers.
* Briefly present your KYC files in Nordea’s Evaluation Board meetings and answer questions in relation to your findings together with the customer’s Relationship Manager.
* Provide expertise knowledge to the Relationship Managers on financial crime risks and mitigating factors related to bank and/or PSP customers.
* Co-ordinate activities with various internal stakeholders and support improved processes and procedures.
